The demand for photography has never been greater than after this past NAM Convention in Orlando Florida. A fantastic time was had by all, and with this year being the first where LebWorld was the official photo-takers of the convention - we definitely wanted to make it special! Random photos of people dancing, eating, trying to hide from the big bad cameras - but alas, not succeding very well at the end of the day. And of course, the captions are a little extra-crispy this year, so get a glass of vino and some cheese (no potato chips, please) and sit around the campfire and enjoy the show. If this is this much fun, imagine what OUR hafle is gonna be like?!?! Enjoy!...

What do you get when you take a couple hundred Lebs, have them traverse through the beautiful hilly countryside of Pennsylvania - then stick them in the middle of suburbia? You have a regional NAM convention, that's what! Much silliness, dabke, and what could barely pass for hospital food was dished out, and LebWorld and its tireless representatives caught it all on digital goodness. Huge thanks to Naomi, Antoinette and Sammy for helping us take & process such fantastic pictures of all the trips, parties, and other random nonsense that just had to be had on digital film. Don't forget to order your favorites today from any event we highlight! Have fun!...

Clearly, not all Lebanese are Maronites, and not all Maronites are Lebanese, but for one hot summer week - every year, for the past 40 years - all kinds of Lebs from all over the United States (and a few from abroad) travel to a chosen lucky city for a convention of grand proportions. This year, no better city could have played host to such an event as yo yo Brooklyn, New York. It wouldn't have been NY without a little traffic, a lot of nightlife, and some good old fashioned late-night rabblerousing. NAM2003 was a fantastic success & we've got tons of pictures, which this year you can order copies of, a full photo review of all the festivities you either attended or will kick yourself in the ass for not going to. : ) There's always next year - in Orlando, Florida!  Enjoy...

The miniRAVE held Saturday, Sept. 14th in Brooklyn, New York was a tough sell for many Leb youngsters - unfamiliar with the concept of a 'rave,' rave music, and the short notice given made for a modest crowd at the Union Church of Bay Ridge. Nevertheless, they made the most of what was a sweet atmosphere and the performance of the world-renowned WIll Soliman on the dirrbekke/tabla definitely wow'ed the crowd. Yalla...

The NAM Convention 2002, held this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was a proverbial success according to many of its attendees (myself included). For those of you who have never attended a NAM convention, in their own words, 'The NAM Conventions have been an annual opportunity to gather together for spiritual renewal, education, and socializing.' To others, it's four days of virtual freedom from immediate elders, alcohol restriction, and an opportunity to find other Lebanese people to mix and mingle with (aka, find a wife). Like any large event, there are cliques and sub groups that form; some people have a blast and some are simply overwhelmed by what's going on. Overall, it's a chance for people of a like culture to gather in one place every year, stay up till ungodly hours of the night, drink and be merry, and catch up with old friends and make some new ones (aka, find a husband). Yalla...
